El Monte RV Mileage Packages

(for rentals starting between: 01.04.2024 and 31.10.2024)

When renting a motorhome, it is important to know that the mileage driven is not necessarily part of the rental fee. If your rental does not include any mileage or you exceed the number of miles included in your package, the rental company will charge a per mile fee at drop off. Therefore we recommend that you roughly calculate the amount of miles you will need for your trip and choose your package accordingly. Below you will see the outline of the mileage inclusions in each feature package level and the cost of upgrading those inclusions within the feature package. Pre-Booking mileage packages is often cheaper than paying for miles at drop off.

5 Simple Steps to Booking a Motorhome

1. Select a Motorhome Rental Company Pfeil

There are four major motorhome rental providers in the United States. You have the choice between Cruise America, El Monte RV, Road Bear, and Britz. These are all well established, renowned business with many years of experience in the motorhome rental industry.

2. Select your Travel Season Pfeil

The various packages and rates offered by the rental car company are divided into two rental seasons – Summer and Winter. In order to best research the motorhome possibilities, you need to select in which timeframe you would like to travel. Hint: There are several Early-Bird discounts! This means that the earlier you book, the better the specials (and availability).

3. Choosing your MotorhomePfeil

After you have decided on a rental company and travel season, it is time to select a vehicle. Choosing the right motorhome size is the most important part of a motorhome vacation! Remember that everyone needs their space. Packing the maximum number of people into a motorhome may spoil your dream vacation. We always recommend choosing a motorhome that sleeps more people than you are traveling with!

4. Choosing your Pick-Up and Drop-Off LocationsPfeil

When selecting your pick-up and drop-off locations it is always beneficial when they are the same. This increases the chances that the rental company will be able to confirm your reservation request and in addition they do not cary any extra fees.

Should you choose a pick-up and drop-off location that are not the same, please be aware that there will be an additional fee to be paid at the rental location known as a one-way fee. The further the locations are apart, the more costly this one-way fee becomes.

5. Choosing a Special Pfeil

Most rental companies offer special packages or discounts for certain rentals. Some of these include discounts for extended rentals of 21 days or more, others simply offer free extras like vehicle kits or navigational systems. Here its important too to book early, in order to save more!

Early Pick-Up

Picking up a motorhome rental on the day of arrival from an international flight is not permitted.
We strongly recommend booking a hotel room for your first night.

For rentals starting in Dallas, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Newark (NYC), Orlando, or San Francisco, El Monte RV gives you the option to pick up your vehicle in the morning instead of the usual 13:00 pick up time. With this Early Pick-Up you will be on the road by 11:00 AM.

The Early pick-up is included in the Super-Inclusive-PLUS packet

 

Conditions for the Early Pick-up option:
  • Can only be reserved together with a El Monte RV motorhome
  • Please indicate the pick-up hotel name when placing the reservation
  • Must be booked at least 30 days prior to the rental pick-up

As part of the Early Pick-Up option, El Monte RV offers a free transportation (must be registered on the day before) to the rental location from your hotel (must be booked separate) between 6:45 AM and 8:00 AM. Transportation back to a hotel or the airport after vehicle drop-off is also available.

Standard Transfer

El Monte RV offers free transportation from your hotel (please see list of hotels below) to the rental locations in Dallas, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Orlando, Newark (NYC), San Francisco, and Vancouver (SEA) for rentals picking up at/after 13:00. Free transportation back to the Hotel/Airport is included as well (for rentals returning in New York, only transportation to Newark Airport is included – NOT JFK or LGA). The transfer from/to Manhattan Midtown hotels is available with advanced notification. A fee of USD 80 per transfer (payable on location) applies. Free transportation must be requested and arranged with the rental location at least 7 days prior to pick up.

Pick-up is only possible at the listed transfer hotels.

Notice for Seattle/Vancouver:

The Vancouver rental location (city code SEA) is located in Ferndale, Washington State, USA - approx. 60-80 minutes (ca. 52 miles) away from the Vancouver airport and approx. 90-120 minutes (125 miles) away from the Seattle Tacoma airport. El Monte RV only offers transfers from the Vancouver airport hotels at 12:00 with an additional border fee (US Border Crossing Fee) of USD 6 per person (payable at the rental location). The return transport is only possible to the Vancouver airport. There is no transfer service from/to the Seattle. Please only use this location only for flights in connection to/from Vancouver.
